Compressor Stator CFD and Mesh Study

This group study investigated steady, incompressible flow over a compressor stator blade in STAR-CCM+. Coarse, medium, fine and locally refined meshes were tested using first- and second-order numerical methods. Mesh refinement improved pressure and force predictions, while the targeted 'other' mesh achieved the lowest total-pressure error at approximately 2.74 percent with lower computational cost than a uniformly fine mesh.
