Lightweight Motorcycle Brake Lever FEA
This individual study used a two-dimensional planar-stress model in Abaqus to develop a lighter 6061-T6 aluminium motorcycle brake lever without compromising structural safety. Linear and quadratic elements, global mesh convergence and local mesh refinement were compared. The final analysis produced a maximum Von Mises stress of 154.7 MPa, a maximum deformation of 2.524 mm and a safety factor of 1.68 against the material yield strength.
